I'm not going to say not to watch it because if your a fan curiosity will get the best of you. Kusuo is completely dead pan and Kaido exhibits no embarrassment from his dillusions like he normally would in the anime. Kusuo and Kaido are pretty much the same but at the same time they aren't. Without sharing spoilers I will say Teruhashi, Nendo, Hairo, and Kuboyasu are not represented in the best light. like I did for naruto (read the fan translations for entire series) and buy the manga anyway to support the series/author. So, out of curiosity, do you guys make it a point to only buy stuff you will actually read, or.

They made the main characters act in ways they normally wouldn't, and combined traits/ personalities other characters have into one person. All series I buy, I buy eith either the intention of reading, or because I have already read/watched the manga/anime digitally.

It was like they crammed 10 episodes into one movie that takes place in one setting. They weren't faithful to the characters, or storyline. 👎 I was so excited to watch this film even though I could tell from trailer it probably wasn't going to be faithful to the anime or manga. If you enjoy the silliness of the anime, it's reflected quite well in the live action, especially considering the budget and that it is real live people.įirst I'd like to say I love the Saiki K anime! I fully know that any live adpation of an anime or cartoon show can be a hit or bust. This isn't some deep drama, I'm surprised the other reviews are so low.

It is colorful, most of the acting is quite good, the gags are funny, and it's light-hearted. The short of it is this: this is a live action adaptation that stays true to the anime (it doesn't try to re-write any characters or anything frustrating like that!). Instead of focusing on how bizarre their world is, the characters allow the story to move along. The fact that every character is ridiculous, and strange occurrences are dismissed really helps with immersion. It's obviously fake hair, but with how colorful the uniforms and setting is, everything blends quite well. I also thought the wigs and costumes were done especially well. It almost felt sometimes that he was almost about to burst laughing, but he always kept it together. I especially loved how well the main character kept a straight face. The low-budget effects of the floating cars and fake backgrounds really lended themselves well to the gags. As someone who's enjoyed the anime, I think they did a fantastic job translating everything into live action. Honestly this was so refreshing! The cast is so colorful, and they play up their anime counterparts so well.
