Unfortunately at the time I had no good PC or a 7th gen console to play the game, and it wasn't till around 2012 or so, that I had purchased the game from the Playstation store to play the game and man I was not disappointed. I remember seeing trailers for Mafia II many years ago I was hyped since I had beaten the original Mafia game on PS2 (yes really lol) so seeing gameplay and trailers for Mafia II had intrigued young me.
MAFIA 2 DEMO TIME GLITCH MOD
Nowadays I'm patiently waiting for Mafia II Extended Edition Mod that is supposed to restore most of the cut missions and content. It amazes me how a short game can influence my life soo deeply.Īgain, years went by, then I discovered that there were cut content of Mafia II. So I didn't know that the game also had chapters that take place in 1950's! When I saw a gameplay video of Mafia II and saw the different cars and heard different music I knew it was 1950's and I got so excited! I started the game again and finished it. That mission still makes me anxious as hell. So, I couldn't get past the mission in which you have to sneak past through guards in the night time, stealing gas stamps. And I loved 1950's (and early 1960's) I got obsessed with 1950's. Then, inevitably so, I got interested in 1950's. and so my interest was focused on the "Post War Era" in general. I listened to 1940's music, I watched noir movies, etc. The music, the architecture, the clothing, the cars. But the game got me interested in 1940s culture. I couldn't get past a specific mission, I will say that later on the text. The game had a "homey" kind of feeling for me. I liked the architecture and the interor of Freddy's Bar especially. I was in love with the atmosphere of the snowy 1945 Empire Bay. I thought to myself that I knew these old cars from somewhere, God knows where lol. So every time I play the 1940's section of Mafia II, I remember my grandparents :) So, the interior decor of the house kinda helped to establish Mafia II's atmoshpere a bit. The first time I was about to play Mafia II, I was at my grandparents' house. Well, Mafia II's promise was obviusly Mafia. GTA games were about crime and mafia too, but GTA's main promise was about the open-world. To be able to play as a mafioso and to rank up. Then one day I saw the game Mafia II on a local pc repair store. I was like 14 and I loved open-world games such as GTA Vice City.
